So it appears to me Bledsoe gave them what they wanted to hear and now suddenly she's a head coach.... </div></div>
No... I would not think that is the real story. Do you know this for sure?
I didn't say fair! (even though that is fair in your eyes) I said EQUALITY! They are two very different things. By law it does not matter who makes the most money, things are supposed to be equal across the board from playing facilities to equipment to uniforms. EVERYTHING is supposed to be of equal quality...
Not trying to take sides here...but a football field has a hard time withstanding the treatment doled out during practice...it is totally unique from other sports in that you don't want to practice on you game field daily...and most every team I can think of doesn't...In every other sport, the field doesn't take the beating that 1 week of FB practice would cause to a field...so GC having a practice field and a playing field is the norm for everyone else as well.

Wow I wish someone would just file a Title IX around there and get it over with. Your post just proves what I was stating about the attitude in Gate City, the girls will take whatever we are willing to give them and live with it...well I hate to tell you but not ever Coach Fry could stand up against a law that says the girls have to have equality....And it's funny because while football doesn't even make it to playoffs the girls dominate now and they are still disrespected... </div></div>
I do not believe the girls are being disrespected. They fired their coach for what ever reason. If the girls truley love softball better than they do the coach.. they will be okay. I hope it was softball that was driving them. There field is okay... they maybe just need light though.

No that is not the law..it really is not. That is totally up to the rest of the coaches and the athletic department.... to be really honest it is how much pull that you have in the school and the community. If you rub someone the wrong way.. look out the funds are gone.
According to one of the secretary's at Bledsoe's school Mr. Campbell visited her several times and met with her behind closed doors. Bledsoe claimed to Godsey that she was with him 100%, but when the time came for the meeting and the decision to be made it was made really clear where she stood...And i'm sorry but she had plenty to gain, and she did, now she's assistant to no one. And you may not think that's fair, but i'm sorry Bledsoe is arrogant and thinks she can do it better...

Ok you can be the one to tell the private funders who give thier money exclusively to the football team (and they do exist) that their money is being given out somewhere else because the girls teams get new equiptment every 2 weeks.
And don't try to deny the part about the private funders, i know some of them and you obviously haven't been as involved with the program as i have been and that's apparent because if you had you would know the pride, and the blood and sweat and tears those boys pour out on the feild every year and if you've been through that then you respect everyone who has ever played the game with heart.
No I actually do agree that the boys need a practice field because their's cannot handle that kind of abuse. But I think they should respect the girls enough to not trample holes in their outfield then leave it for them to fix...
Do me a favor...do a search for Title IV on yahoo and read what the law really is. I've read it many times, I know what it says...
